Members polishpaul Posted December 11, 2011 Members Posted December 11, 2011 After much surfing I've decided on these to help me with my blues playing. I'd say they are suitable even for beginners - they might struggle to play what the guy's doing, but would nevertheless get a great insight into what the genre is all about. You have to register, but it's free. Each video is just a couple of minutes long, but what attracts me is the fact that the guy generally calls out the note names as he explains what he's doing. This is most appealing to me, because I don't have to sit through a lot of "second fret, third string" pointers to the notes. Some knowledge of the fretboard and blues theory would be useful, but take a look anyway. None of the licks are too difficult, but they sound good! This an excellent way to build your first blues solo. I reckon that once you've nailed even half of these licks, you'll be able to handle a blues gig! I have to click on "low" when the video is loading so it plays without pauses - my connection is not the fastest in the world. The video player has a loop function - and it works!
