Members DCurtis Posted January 31, 2012 Members Posted January 31, 2012 Anyone aware of any web sites or softwarethat trains a person to hear and recognize rhythms? Thanks.
Members jeremy_green Posted February 1, 2012 Members Posted February 1, 2012 I know there is an iPad app called ReadRhythm that I have used... Honestly though, actually just old school sight reading is the best thing for this.
Members DCurtis Posted February 1, 2012 Author Members Posted February 1, 2012 Thanks Jeremy. And I agree, sight reading is great for that. But I have found that when transcribing, I have doubts aboutmy accuracy when it comes to complex rhythms. And as well, I'd love to have something to recommend tostudents as well. Oh, I don't an iPad, or an i anything.Just good old fashioned laptop and desktop computing.
Members DCurtis Posted February 1, 2012 Author Members Posted February 1, 2012 Here are some links, in case anyone is interested. Some of it is rudimentary, but it may be useful, so here ya' go... http://www.therhythmtrainer.com/ http://www.therhythmtrainer.com/ http://www.worldjazz.ch/rhythm_training.htm http://www.practicesightreading.com/index.php
Members mcmurray Posted February 1, 2012 Members Posted February 1, 2012 Use transcribe and add beat/measure markers to the phrase in question, and slow it down. This will let you visualize where each note is occurring, and make the job a little easier. http://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/download.html
