Members gennation Posted March 25, 2012 Members Posted March 25, 2012 I've been giving intermediate and advanced lessons on skype for years. I can cover all the styles you mentioned and more. I can show even the very fluent guitarists some new views. Let me know if you're interested and I'll pm you my paypal info. In the meantime you can use my free sites http://lessons.mikedodge.com and http://mikedodge.freeforums.org/one-off-lessons-and-concepts-f2.html
Members jonfinn Posted March 25, 2012 Members Posted March 25, 2012 I do Skype lessons also. Please feel free to PM me for info on rates, resume, references etc.
Members DenisChang Posted March 25, 2012 Members Posted March 25, 2012 wow Jon Finn! He's a legend from my childhood! Anyway, i think it's very important to know what you want out of lessons, it will help you and the teacher figure out what to work on right away... it also helps to post clips of your playing so the teacher can assess your level properly... last but not least, look for teachers that specialize in something ... beware the teachers who claim to be able teach it all!
Members insharkywaters Posted March 26, 2012 Members Posted March 26, 2012 I'm going to attempt to do this with my sister over the summer. Any recommendations as to how to make these things go smoothly via Skype?

Any recommendations as to how to make these things go smoothly via Skype? Make sure each of you have good to great Internet/bandwidth. If you are using wireless at home it's best to plug in directly with a wire when on skype for a more stable connection. You/she can use Pamela to record the lesson...having the lesson recorded is a must! (just so you can take the lesson over and over) And, skype runs your video and audio cards hot as crap, so you want good ventilation for your computer to the point of having a fan on it. I use a laptop and if I don't have a cooling tray under it the laptop gets so hot it shuts down!
