Members Still.ill Posted April 15, 2012 Members Posted April 15, 2012 I'm pretty good at palm muting power chords chugga chugga when sitting down, but when standing up it seems like i have to relearn the entire technique... i dont seem to have as much range with my right hand palm.. the guitar isn't slung too low either when i'm standing its like medium

Members Etranger Posted April 16, 2012 Members Posted April 16, 2012 I can do it just fine standing up, so long as the guitar isn't too low. As JR13 said, just keep practicing and you'll get there. I wonder how long James Hetfield had to work at it to manage to get to down pick so quickly, sometimes while palm muting, when his guitar is usually strung so low. I tried and dropped the idea, thinking I'd prefer just hold my guitar up to the level of moobs and do it Chuck Schuldiner style.

When I'm learning something new, or I'm settled in for a decent couple of hours practice session I'll usually sit down, but I always do at least 30mins a day practicing standing up. Pays off at gigs
