Members x-ray specs
Looking for some good tips on how you improved your speed on the fretboard when doing runs and solos with scales/modes/pentatonics. But not interested in info on fretboard spanning arpeggios that can be played in 0000000000000000.2 seconds or other shredhead stuff. I'm only looking to improve my speed on the fretboard a little not looking to break the sound barrier and/or tear open a hole in the fabric of spacetime. Thanks for any good info. Members 1001gear
Find your own bottlenecks. There will probably be dozens of different kinds of fingering and/or picking issues. Work 'em out till they disappear.
Members Santuzzo
First of all make sure you are using good fingerings, by that I mean fingerings that are comfortable for YOU. That could fingerings that stay in position (+/- 1 fret) or 3-note-per-string fingerings.(For faster runs I usually prefer 3nps fingerings.)Make up some scale patterns and sequences and practice the scales with them and as you will have heard already many times: start slowly and make sure you play it cleanly and accurately with good tone and good timing, thne gradully up the speed. Members The Burninator
x-ray specs - I'm kinda confused - what exactly are you asking? Do you want to be faster but not to play faster? Are you seeking for ways to be more fluent on the fretboard?
Members x-ray specs
Thanks for the replies. @ The BurninatorI want to get faster, but am not interested in learning to shred with arpeggios.
