Members weeb Posted August 12, 2010 Members Posted August 12, 2010 Total noob when it comes to the tech stuff so please bear with me! What I need (want) is some sort of pedal operated mixer so I can have multiple inputs (guitar/bass/mic/drums) if possible all going to one source (stereo would be nice). This is all to go through a loop pedal so I can build complex layered loops. It also needs to be able to switch between the inputs using a footswitch. I've found this http://www.lehle.com/frameset.php?country=us?=en but obviously there is no control over the levels etc. There must be things out there but I just don't know where to start, any ideas?
Members davidandree Posted August 12, 2010 Members Posted August 12, 2010 sounds like you should just get a mixer with the amount of inputs you need, make sure it has enough aux sends and run the sends into a a/b or a/b/c line switcher pedal... this is what i do to switch between cabled instruments and a microphone for acoustic instruments ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidandree/4421648356/ ). this helps me eliminate unwanted mechanical noises through the microphone when i am not using it. if you are not having problems with bleed or the loops sounding muddy, just use a mixer into your loop and hop between the instruments - no need to select input
Members weeb Posted August 13, 2010 Author Members Posted August 13, 2010 Cheers dude, ok that makes sense so now I guess I'm looking for a mixer. Bearing in mind this is all a bit new to me and I dont wont something ridculously complex, can you recommend a one? I guess I dont want anything too noddy but something that will get me up and running but leave some room to learn (and some money to buy line a switcher).
