Members Quarterwave
Hey guys, I've been looking at the Line 6 HD series and are trying to justify the extra $100 on the 500 model. I'm using this for gigs only (use plugins for recording) and as my background is from the vintage tube amp / pedals area, I generally like 1 overdriven guitar sound with a boost for lead.... and maybe a flange or phaser, but that's usually it. So, with that in mind, is the 500 worth it ? NOTE - I know it's only a $100 extra, but I got bills to pay....
Members Will Chen
For your stated needs, why even look at the 400? For the external loop? Otherwise the 300 is just about the same with a few extra effects in the 400. The 500 allows user defined effects placement in the virtual effects chain including multiple instances and up to 8 fx at once versus the 300/400 fixed virtual signal chain, single occurrence of effects, and only 4 effects at once. Members BryanMichael
For $100 get the 500. It will be worth it to you in the long run.
