Members germanicus2112
I highly recommend you get a pro-sumer level interface. Sound Blasters really dont meet that standard to the best of my knowledge. For well under $200 you can get a great little interface card that will give you fantastic quality. Something like this:http://www.zzounds.com/item--THKMIMD442 or http://www.zzounds.com/item--TASUS144MKII

Members jonfinn
If you're only recording electric guitar, go with IK multimedia's Stealth Pedal. Otherwise, I'm a fan of Presonus Firebox as a good, solid entry-level interface.
Members Anderton
You definitely don't want to use a SoundBlaster. The inputs don't match guitar-type impedance and levels. There really are a ton of interfaces out there. There are two main issues: USB or FireWire. I'd go with USB as it tends to be less finicky, and some newer computers don't include FireWire. The other thing is you definitely want something with an instrument input that's designed specifically for guitar. Lots of interfaces have this now. Take a look at some of the pro reviews, there are several interface reviews going on - if you have the bucks, the new Mbox series is really sweet (avoid the previous generation, they weren't anywhere near as good). Also, check out the review I did of the Mackie Blackjack. It's high quality, simple, has an instrument input, and doesn't cost much. Also the PreSonus interfaces are very good - I use one in my live performance act. But really, there are so many interfaces out there...y'know, you've given me a good idea...it's time to write an article about "How to Choose an Audio Interface."
