Members Northstar
I borrowed a VG-8 today but I don't have the special pickup that goes with it. Is it still possible to use the VG-8 as an effects unit without the pickup? How?
Members BryanMichael
In the later VG models there is a "guitar in" jack that takes a standard 1/4" guitar input. I'm not sure if the VG-8 has that or not, but if it does- that is your ticket.

I'm not sure how the architecture of the VG-8 was compared to the VG-88 and VG-99 (both of which I have owned). The later models allowed you to use the unit as a stand alone effects unit, perhaps the AUX IN on the VG-8 is POST effects (because it seems like you would need to use the AUX IN on the VG-8 compared to the dedicated GUITAR IN on the later models) or maybe you can assign the aux in position in the chain within the unit? I'm not as familiar with the VG-8 as I am the later models. Is there a manual with it?
