Members aliensporebomb Posted September 13, 2011 Members Posted September 13, 2011 It looks like an AxeFx!
Members Vettaville.nl Posted September 13, 2011 Members Posted September 13, 2011 FYI. here's the pressrelease on POD HD Prohttp://www.vettaville.nl/page.php?id=154#1200
Members DeadNight Warrior Posted September 14, 2011 Members Posted September 14, 2011 It looks like an AxeFx! It's 2U and black. Aside from that it looks pretty much nothing like an Axe-FX. As far as I can tell (someone correct me if I'm wrong) it's basically the same as the existing HD stuff, only it's in a rack format and has AES/EBU I/O and a dry output. So pretty much like their previous Pro releases. IMO this is a bit disappointing. I don't really see the appeal, especially when it'll no doubt be more expensive than the HD500, and then you need to buy a foot controller for it. I just don't see what's so "Pro" about these units.

I think it's the HD500 + M13 all in one. +having to buy a floor board will end up costing as much as just gettin a damn HD500 and a M13.EDIT:ok saw a video on POD HD Pro, yup it's a HD500 + M13 AND mic pre with tube emulation that will work with any DAW. Coolness.

Yeah, from what I can tell:It has 6 more amp models than the HD500It has more (or newer??) microphone models than the HD500It has several more effects than the HD500, especially in the "mods" sectionIt has all of the input/output you would expect from the "pro" modelIt has the ability to function as a mic preAND - the biggest feature of ALL that it has over the HD500...IT HAS A BLOODY POWER SWITCH!
Members DeadNight Warrior Posted September 16, 2011 Members Posted September 16, 2011 It has 6 more amp models than the HD500 Someone on the amp forum said this isn't actually the case. The Line6 site says the HD500 has 16 amp models, but a firmware update a lil while back gave it another six. Dunno if that's right or not. It has all of the input/output you would expect from the "pro" model As far as I've spotted, all it has over the HD500 is AES/EBU I/O. It has the ability to function as a mic pre According to the specs on the Line6 site (haven't used one myself), the HD500 also has an XLR input and mic preamp.

You may be right on the firmware update - I have the HD500 with the update and it doesn't look like more amps in the Pro specs. There are more effects though,a power switch and more connectivity, including a stereo effects loop that doesn't require a "Y" cable like the one on the HD500.
