played a coupla shows in chicago last night. great to see the old guys putting it across. holsapple appears to have been practicing / playing guitar for the past decade. and of course we already know stamey has too....

I still scratch my head as to why america chose r.e.m to be *the* indie pop band back when they was neck and neck. db's were quirkier, more soulful, tuneful, more gtr playing... hmmm, maybe I do know why.

oh well.

check out their debut "stands for decibels" -- still holds up. seminal pop record. a lesson in craft n every tune. and check 'em out when they tour on the album they're making. the new material sounded superb. lots of geetar fellas.

also nice to see you bass player out on the town ivor,

over and out.

Did you ask him when we're "touring" Chicago? ;)

It's so awesome to see the dBs (and Big Star, for that matter... and the Soft Boys, last year....) making new music. I really hope things will "take" for them so this trend will continue and counter the river of filth that seems to run from the wells of "new bands."
