CraigsList: You know what gets on my nerves?

The fact that the local guitar stores have got hip to it and are now snapping up all the bargins, slapping $150 to $1,000 extra on their price tags and selling them on.

This became particulary apparent to last night as I walked past Rivington Guitars and saw that half his window display was ex-CL NYC guitars, amps and pedals.

This shouldn't get on my nerves I suppose, it's a free country, but I feel like the last source of reasonably priced local gear is slipping away.

:(

What do you expect for $10? You cheap bastard! :p

That seller was trying to get rid of that thing on CL for weeks!
It was funny, his photo was taken with a cell phone or somethin' real lo-res.
He must've come down in price a lot.

CL prices are way outta' line and you gotta wade thru a lot of dung to find a mushroom.

I almost always get a low-ball offer from Rivington when i post something on CL.

No one should even look at that place; they're total criminals.

Whatever is not ripped off from suckers on CL is probably stolen (they are a-ok with selling hot gear; spoke to someone who saw their stolen guitar in the window there. When he went in and told them it was his hot guitar, they said, "not my problem.")

I'm not too fond of CL. It always seems like their are alot of scammers on there, probably due to the more anonymous nature of it. I have yet to get anything good off of it and nobody seems to want to jam from the ad I posted either on there. What really pisses me off is that I got one of those scam e-mails when I posted in the music community page. I guess even scammers get confused.

Who says I don't!

This afternoon I juuuust missed out on a cherry RI Epi Casino for $250. My worst miss over the last couple of weeks was a Hagstrom III for $150.

Two or three of those and I just gave up. It's like when a dog trys to hump a leg: unsuccessful and embarassing.

If that was my guitar, the brick I put through their window would be.

I have never tried to squeeze every last dime out of the stuff I post on Craigslist and Harmony Central classifieds (sappy sense of community), but when I see the gear flipped on eBay for a big profit the next week, I feel like someone wrote SUCKER on my forehead in sharpie. I'm selling less used gear these days.
