Members Bassin' 'Round Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 Not in terms of giving problems, but meaning can get the wildest. Small Stone? Phase 90? Or maybe something else? Which phaser can get the most unruly? That's the one for me. *edit*(Actually I guess I don't actually mean this because the Moog phaser can probably get the craziest. But I don't want to drop that much coin, hehehe. So, for the same ballpark or even slightly more, which is the most unruly? Anybody run a Maxon PT999?)*edit* So, which one? Thanks.
Members Janglin_Jack Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 Of the ones I have played, the Small Stone has the best tone and the widest range of tones. It has a Color Switch that gives it more versatility than the others. Jack
Members nosferatu123 Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 Not really the best sounding phaser but the Boss PH-2 is capable of some amazingly synthy sounding stuff.
Members L6Sguy Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 the SS and Phase 90 are the two most polite non-weird phasers on this planet. not wild at all. for out of the ordinary, consider instead: ibanez pm-7 nobels ph-d

Members Acid Test Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 The best way to make a phaser unruly or overwhelming is place it late in your chain, after your distortion boxes. Put it up front for a more subtle sound.
Members lowroadrevival Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 The PT-999 is the most tame of those 3 for sure.
Members EvilSoup Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 Flanger Hoax is said to be a phaser of sorts. Alesis Phaser is probably unruly too. The Quasar phaser has lots of controls, could get unruly.
Members box handler Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 Find an old EH Bad Stone for a good price and it'll get you into Ring Mod territory at times.

Members Bruno Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 I dig the Mu-Tron Bi-Phase for the wildest hands down. If you looking to do something on the cheap then the EH Small Stone is the way to go
Members murtaghstyle Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 Never tried either but the 4ms phaseur fleur or this thing could get pretty wild.
Members duderanimous Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 I used to have (and GOD do I wish I still did) an Electro Harmonix PolyPhase... best phaser I ever had
Members cutlerman Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 the Maxon PH-350 Rotary Phaser is capable of nice phasing sounds but also gets really whacked out...best phaser on the market IMO

Both at www.ToneFactor.com . Going to one of these. Thanks ES!
Members ck3 Posted October 23, 2005 Members Posted October 23, 2005 The infinitphase B0N J0v13's all other phasers in this regard ... it was even too much of a bucking bronco for yours truly.
Members DanyoSound Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 ADA Final Phase, if you find one at all.

Members sirhcathome Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 Roland Rackmount phaser, SPH-323. mode zero has some samples, it does everything including things you thought of assuming it would be something that was not thought of by the Roland engineers.
