How does Zakk use his Chorus?

Most likely it's subtle and stereo (as he uses a Boss CH-1).

Normally, when using MONO chorus with distortion, you get an instant cheesy 80's hairmetal tone, but with the right amount of true stereo, the sound becomes fatter, without robbing the balls from it.

The guys from Stryper also knew how this should be done; listen to "Rocking the World" intro, it's a HUGE sound! Chorussed, yes, but huge!

not if you want it in that 'super high gain, slightly chorussed, but really fat' type, no.

You can also achieve such phatness with a delay, where 1 amp receives the dry signal and 1 receives a very short delayed signal (12-20ms).
