my pedal's ideal settings are quite a bit deferent between my crappy passive pups and my active emg's.

was wondering if others have noticed this, and if so how do you handle guitar changes??

i would like to be able to switch guitars without having to fiddled with my pedal settings.

main reason i'm asking is i either need to upgrade pups or get rid of a guitar i have a love hate relationship with. my emg guitar is for sure a keeper.

so do i upgrade with emg's to match my other guitar?

or if i get good passives will they behave enough similar to the emg's to not have to fiddle with pedal settings??

I use a Strat with 'vintage' pickups (ie weak) and a Les Paul with high output ceramics. Although I dont play out at the moment I use different pedals for each guitar. The fundamentals of my sound are overdrive and delay so I set my board up with two of each plus extras. It's also cool to use the 'wrong' pedals.
