Boosting a JMP 2203 Question?

(I posted this in the amp forum, and thought that I should try it here as well.)

 

 

I have a JMP 2203.

 

I play Rock, not metal and currently use a Keeley modded TS-9 or Tonebone Classic for more gain when I want it.

 

I set the pre-amp at around 6-7. I like the way the Tube Screamer smoothes out the amp, but am curious what other people like to use with this amp.

 

Anyone try the Time Machine Boost for instance?

mxr micro amp. it adds that extra bit you need with out the coloring up of a tube screamer.

I prefer clean boosts with my JMP, but I have been able to dial in some sweet tones with tube screamers, too. Clean boosts don't color the tone, though, and you won't need to raise the bass on your amp with one.

I've only really used and SD-1 and tubescreamer. It does sound like you lose some low end with you, but as a result, your low end sounds tighter.
