Sparkle Drive? Opinions

I think it's OK.

BUT

The feature that makes it fairly unique, the blend control, i didn't like so much. IMO, it worked best as a straight out 808 sound OR as a boost, with the blend all up or all off. With the blend in the middle stages it sounds like a boost with a fizz in the background.

So, good in theory. Less so in practice.

It's based on the tubescreamer sound so it's good if you like that sort of thing. I didn't care for it all that much, especially used with a Les Paul/humbucker guitar. I think the blendable clean would be cool on a higher gain type of pedal like a Tonebone HB.:thu:

this is a killer pedal. what happenes is not all youre bottom goes out the window. you dial in the right amount of gain and blend it with the natural tube distortion from your amp.
try it with a fender, or a lwer gain amp . it loves marshalls.
it has replaced my 4558 modded ts-9
the sparkle also has n.o.s 4558 in it
