Anyone have a VG88 and like it?

How do you like it? How good does the unit work without using Rolands special guitar pickup??

the VG-88 is fun with the hex pickup.

If you're not going to use the hex pickup, get a Boss GT-8. It does everything the VG-88 does without the hex pickup, and it sounds a lot better, and does a lot more.

i've had the vg-8 for two weeks testing time.. was very nice. i loved the sounds you could make with the hex-pickup, always stay in tune. sounding like a trumpet.. it's cool.

I had one and used it both with and without the hex pickup. I liked it a lot - good amp sims, decent effects. However, as has been said a GT-8 will give you more flexibility for less money (I can't comment on the sound quality as I've not heard one). If you're not going to use the guitar modelling then the VG-88 is perhaps not the best choice.

I had one for a while. It was ok but frankly was dissapointed,The pickup seemed not to track well. Had it up graded to version 2. Then went without the pickup.Then again a average processor. I finally gave up on it. The possiblities are unlimited but did not want to spend hours on tweaking. I went back to pedals!
