Silly???? Difference between Delay and Echo?

They are used interchangeably, and I suppose they are basically the same - but if you want to get more specific, I think delay refers strictly to the repeat of the original signal at some point in time after the original. Whereas echo can refer to the more ambiant aspect of it, which would include reverb and such. So echo can be considered more atmospheric and delay is more about the repeats... or they could just be two words that mean the same thing. ;)
