Members JimVW Posted November 18, 2005 Members Posted November 18, 2005 I did a solo "potted plant" gig last night on acoustic, and I thought I'd try just plugging into my Micro Cube on batteries, since the room wasn't that big and I was basically background music (and since I was going to have only 5-10 minutes for setup). My other options were to bring a small mixer and a powered JBL Eon 10, or to borrow a friend's acoustic amp. I used the "acoustic" setting on the Micro Cube, but the treble sounded shrill and the bass was flubby. It got me by, but it not sound good. Lesson learned.

Oh, I think it's a lot of fun on the blackface and british combo models. And in the privacy of my own own music room, I thought the acoustic sound was fine, and figured that all I needed was a little reinforcement for last night's gig. But they don't market that amp for what I was trying to use it for, and with good reason I have learned.
