If you could only use ONE effect...

Depends.. Does the amplifiers distortion count as one "effect"?

I really just need some overdrive. I like it best if it comes from a good amp. If amps don't count, then I'll say compressor. Good for clean picking, good for solo-boosting.

Another question then.. Many guitars have active electronics, and some of them a boost switch. (EMG makes one, if I remember correctly.) So would this count as an effect?

Since the only effect I take to blues jams is my Fulldrive II, I guess that'd be it, but it doesn't seem fair. I want my wah, trem, and univibe. That's all I need. And this lamp. And that's all. And {censored}head. Here {censored}head!

depends on the context of the band... right now ive been playing lots of hard rock riffs... so id go with one of my blackstars.... or possibly a wah... my last band was kind of a mix of too many things. we played anything from country to hard rock to punk... I used delay a lot on that band... so i might have to go with delay.
