Baby boomers or the children of baby boomers. Who do I take out first?

I witnessed a horrid family this weekend. Genuine rudeness and not really giving a {censored} about anyone but themselves. Then they got into the beemer and drove away. An all too familiar scene. I hope Santa rams a pipe bomb up their (and their type's) asses. Ah...line ups at christmas.

My old girlfriend is tattood with complete sleeves. We went on a short vacation to milktoast country on the Oregon coast. We had a lot of fun. The best part of the trip was when she and I were leaving a resturant when I saw a FAT AMERICAN man with his family stare at her and make a disgusted face at her. I stopped looked that fat ass in the face and said, "It is rude to stare. God bless my brother." I think he died of a heart attack shortly afterwards.

That's a different dynamic than the one I was talking about, but equally offensive.

The one I'm talking about is they yuppy lawyer dad who doesn't care that his teenage son and daughter are making a mess, swearing in front of my kids and fighting each other because he's too busy talking to his travel agent trying to book a trip to the carribean and also trying to score some cocaine and viagra.

I figured as much I thought I would add something that disgusts me to the mix.

I disregard all people who buy cars because the salesperson says to them, "The statement a 7 Series BMW makes for you." Generally these people are the only reason northbound I-5 is clogged up until the University District. Headed to their Eastside condos wasting world caloric energy being slaves.

Not all of ya. In fact, most of todays youth are actually pretty cool in my book.

But some, man, just no {censored}ing manners or respect for others. But you see it in their parents, so you see where it's coming from.

Yeah, I dated a few girls who were from rich familes, who lived far away from the city. The were sweet and cute but had no idea how the world really worked.

I don't think proximity to the city has anything to do with whether or not someone's kids turn out to be assholes. I've seen plenty of upper class rich kids with absolutly zero respect/consideration for others all over Manhattan, and I've seen the same out in the burbs. The parents usually set the example. Asshole parents usually = asshole kids.

The question is: has the world always been so over-run with overly materialistic, self centered {censored}-faces? I don't think so. What brought this on? Was it the point when the majority of the hippies became yuppies? Or is it just because material possessions and wealth is shoved down our throats via culture, magazines, tv?

I've been tempted to start shooting smack and wandering the streets as of late. A bit too nippy out there though.

I think the parents do have an effect, a pretty big one. But theres the whole "takes a village to raise a child" saying. Instead of those "village" influences coming for a local source, its coming from t.v and mass media. Little Johnny doesn't know whats cool until Nike says so. Same goes for other social aspects.

I'm really bitchin and then there are these other people who suck.

They are rich, although some of them are poor.

The worst ones are old, but the young ones just really get on my nerves and piss me off.

I think it is because they come from the burbs and don't realize how the world works. Of course, I didn't care much for the city boy who mugged me or the country bad ass who let his cow {censored} on the sidewalk.

If I had a better understanding of their uniforms maybe I could avoid them all and just be friends with people as cool as me.

I think Bill Murray's character from Rushmore is a good example of that.

Both my parents are Baby Boomers, and are both quite nice. I also like to think that I turned out alright, too.
