the MXR Dynacomp is not too bad, it's a bit noisy and lacks the transparancy of the bouteek compressors (mostly Ross clones), sduch as the appraised Keeley compressor
anyway, try out a couple of compresors, ithere are a couple of other contenders in the same price range as the Dynacomp that all have something to go for :
Marshall ED compressor
Ibanez CP-9
Boss CS-2

there is a nice compressor shootout here

I have and like the emma transmorgifier. here

Which guitar you're using really matters. I find the dynacomp types fine for weak-signaled single-coils. I really like being able to set attack and release . . . if the emma had a threshold knob on it, it'd be perfect.

Oh, and, I'd sell mine if you like. I try not to collect pedals, and I'm not using any compressor at the moment.

I tried out the Emma transMORGrifier a week ago and I really liked it a lot. It's got some more knobs to tweak, so it's more versatile and it has got a transparent (not distorted) but warm tone. I think it's a great pedal and I will soon buy one for myself :)
