...and I'm so damn happy!!!!

I've just finished putting together the tele I've been building since the autumn!! Sanding took place last night, and polishing tonight. Followed by wiring the electrics and bolting it all together.

It hasn't been the easiest of projects, but it's been so so so so much fun. I recomend anyone who is thinking of building their own, to go ahead and do it. It is thouroughly rewarding.

Thanks! It took lots of work. The paint/finishing was probably the trickiest part to get right, and it's not as perfect as I'd like in some places (the back) but you can't see them when I'm playing it.

The woodworking was the most fun - very satisfying turning a lump of dirty old wood into a slightly cleaner, flatter piece of wood, and then into a guitar shaped piece of wood.

Thank you very much! Hopefully it'll sound good too. Unfortunately it's 12.15 am over here and my wife is in bed. It will be played first thing before work though!!!:thu:

Very nice.

This kinda project has interested me before but I know stuff all about putting together a guitar properly.

Are there any good books or tutorials anywhere which guide you through the steps and avoidance of pitfalls?

I think I'd go for a finished body though because that's a skill that takes years to nail.

Melvin Hiscocks book - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0953104907/ref=sr_11_1/002-7995165-6523220?%5Fencoding=UTF8 has been a great help.
Also, www.allparts.com for the bits - they were super helpful and very speedy.
