Vox DA5...MicroCube killer???

Just bought one of these on a whim. I was going to buy a microcube, but I saw this and it had more models, a larger speaker, more versitile effects, and generally thought it sounded better than the MicroCube. Also has switchable power levels so you can control how loud it is overall.

It does sound better for cleans, that's for sure. The overdrive models are comparable, not necessarily better. I will buy one. Another great little SS amp won't hurt...

Those six C sized batteries really make that one way heavier than the M-C. What a backbreaker.
j.k. I played the larger one of those Voxes,and it did sound pretty good. I've yet to try the mini one,but I'm set with the Micro-Cube.

The OD's aren't great, but I haven't messed around with them much to see how much I can get out of them. I played it and an MC at the same time, and although I'm planning to use this with my own effects, I liked the extra flexability you have with its onboard effects. So far they sound great and are pretty versatile and a lot easier to tweak than the J-Station I was using for quiet playing before.

I'm going to test it out with my CC2 and DMM tonight and see how it goes. The CC2's vibe will definately be a huge improvement to the onboard vibe effect. I'm not expecting much of the fuzz, but even my J-Station sounded good with my OD's and delays, and this thing already sounds better than that.
