Members Blungo
I'm thinking i have a wrong component value somewhere, my boost is INCREDIBLY loud and always has a touch of grit. I'm thinking this isn't how they're intended to sound. Jack, anyone?

Members erick4x4
Did you put C6 in? I find leaving it out quiets it and lowers grit. When I build it I put it switched. Also, transistors make a big difference. The J201's are louder, and can add more grit. I have used 5457's for a touch less, and mpf-102 for the least output and grit. If i take it out, do i need to jumper the holes? I cna't remember which trannys i used but i think it wasn't the 201's (i'll check). Thanks for the advice! Moderators AMZ-FX Posted April 3, 2006 Moderators Share Posted April 3, 2006 Yeah , it's a loud pedal! You can leave off C6 to lower the amount of total gain and it will still have plenty of zing! Schematic is at: http://www.muzique.com/amz/mini.htm regards, Jack

I'm thinking my first change will be to C4 (i think i have 1uF in there) to the "stock" configuration of 3.3uF for a bit less treble. Does that seem right? On my drawing the 3.3uF is C2 and making it smaller will roll off some of the bass.... 1uF will not make much difference as it doesn't really change much until you get around 0.1uF or smaller. http://www.muzique.com/amz/mini.htm The A/B points are pads on the pc board layout that are used for mods. regards, Jack
