Members gil1
I've had an "interesting" history with the Medusa chorus - or you could call it challenging. Bought one, loved it. But it had this "Woop, woop, zip" sound in the background. The higher I turned the chorus depth, the louder and wilder it got. So I sent it back and got a new one. It did the same thing. So I sent it back, and found a third one. It also goes "woop, woop, zip." If I put a compressor in front, it usually stops that noise. Or not. Anyone else have those problems with the Medusa? Members troubbble
I have a history with that pedal too. You see, I decided to order one from Tone Factor right before it went out of production. I clicked the buy button and realized that I was blocking the cookie. So I enabled cookies. When I clicked it again, it said that the pedal was on hold for an hour or something. Stupid cookies. I guess I decided to chalk it up as fate. I didn't really need to spend that much money on a chorus pedal. That's what I told myself. And then they were gone. So to answer your question: Yes, I do have a problem with the Medusa Chorus. I don't have one.

Anyone else have those problems with the Medusa? Three in a row, huh. My take on it would be this. There is nothing wrong with the first one, or the second, or the third. They are supposed to do this. Maybe you just don't like them, or that particular trait. Indeed, you may be justified in disliking it, as examples abound of less-than-perfect design. "Less-than-perfect" relative to my idiosyncrasies.

Members Godin73
I recall one other person posting about similar problems. Sounds like 'bleeding', which might be caused by a design flaw in the PCB. This is the most likely explanation, given the fact that he rather quickly stopped producing them plus your experience with three noisy pedals.Ouch. Never read any complaints on the Moon Phaser, by the way.

Members gil1
I do think I might have electrical issues in my house, since three do this woopZipScreep noise. When it doesn't do this noise, it's really nice. So nice I hunted three down. But I am getting sick of wresting it. Oh, and Carl, I think you should ask $
Members Ben Fulton
Hello everyobody, There were a few people who found a bit of clock noise getting into the signal chain from the Medusa - this was entirely dependant on what was running before the unit. This can be sorted with a simple mod - which we've performed on several units very successfully. To respond to ollenorin - there are only two other issues that have appeared with our pedals - a few early Deluxe Moon Phasers have a pop when engaging the footswitch - which is very easily sorted and 12 Fuzz Gods from the first batch of 150 had their LEDS fail - the LED was not up to spec and didn't fail upon first use - we've sorted all of these devices for the owners. Cheerio, Ben
Members gil1
Ben, that is wonderful that there is a mod for it! I really love my Medusa - so much so that I searched down the last one available in the country by searching the web for almost a whole day. I'll drop you a line so I can get it done. Thanks so much. Members Last Nerve
Ben is top notch....treats his customers like gold! Red Witch thinks outside the box also, with the phaser, fuzz, chorus, they all have little perks and quirks, but there is nothing like them around. Members Last Nerve
Olle, Wasn't aimed at you. There have been LOTS of threads about Red Witch around here. Almost every one Ben has replied and ad an answer (LEDs were bad, open it open and turn this knob, etc..etc...). Red Witch, like others that devote some time here, continue to amaze me. Members gil1
Yep, wasn't tring to dis Ben either. I asked bacause I was hoping to figure out if it's an issolated electrical issue or something that can be repaired. Last time I asked Ben he hadn't heard of anyone else with this problem. So I've been waiting to figure out what to do.
Members Last Nerve
What are the settings you're using on the Medusa?Did you read the manual? I ask, cause it seems there was an internal trimmer that did something.
Members thebazaar
mmmmm Medusa. Havent had any trouble with my two witches (phaser and chorus). and talk about a chorus. Ive spent months learning the sounds the medusa offers. and i havent even touched the internal pots. 60's psychedelia, 80's metal clean, crazy warbles and a beautful doubling effect that i like to use with single note jazz solos

Members Ben Fulton
Hi Folks, Thanks for all the positivity everyone - always nice to get warm feedback. I just sent you an email Gil with details regarding getting the mod done. Olle - I didn't think for a second you were trying to 'dis' me or Red Witch - I only responded to clarify exactly has been an issue - better to have clarity than to let speculative rumour kick in. Last time that happended there was talk of the Moon Phaser using pieces of the True Cross inside it. Which it er.........er......... doesn't...yeah, that's right....... Have a great day everyone and get ready for the next goody - within 3 weeks. :thu: Cheerio, Ben
