Members Vismund
Hello, i just have a small question that requires your opinion and knowledge, which im sure after reading several threads, you're all capable of providing. Im having troubles with the effects in my amp, i can't get the sound that im looking for. Here is my amp: http://www.behringer.com/LX1200H/index.cfm?lang=ENG I really like the functions it has, the 32 different amp models, but the effects it comes with, dont cut it in my opinion. Phaser, Flanger and Compressor dont sound deep enough. The Distorion and Ovderdrive sound fine, so im not sure if im not setting the effects right, or the effects just aren't that good. I've listened to a couple of Boss Stompboxes and the quality of their effects sound much thicker and flowing then the effects on mine. So what should i do? I'm thinking about investing in some Boss Pedals, which i might need for live shows anyway, but i don't really want to waste money. So am i just setting the effects badly, or are the effects just not that great? Thank You for your time. NOTE: I'm playing this on a Les Paul Classic, so i know its not the pickups. Members dot-dot-dot
Take your guitar and the amp to a shop and try it with some pedals.

Members orourke
I guess those Berhinger amps are pretty good for the money, but for $300 bucks you might just be expecting too much from it. I know you can only afford what you can afford and I've never tried one, but I bet that amp is kind of like on of those imitation Swiss Army Knife's you can get on Canal Street, it'll do a whole lot of things o.k. but not as good a really high quality unit. Anolog effects tend to sound warmer than digital effects, especially when you are talking about overdrive or distortion. And there is a difference between good digital and bad digital also. For example, a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay sounds warmer than a Boss DD-6 Digital Delay. Now once again, I'm just guessing but I bet even some cheap Dano or Digitech pedals would probably be an improvement on the effects that you have on your amp. But Boss is a nice place to start. Members fusionid
there is a member here. Stratevo who uses be Berhinger effects on a rack he has. He is the only member here that I heard has experience on their units. I have no experience with that amp. The only thing that I can tell you is that if you like the tone then that's all the matters. What are the problems with the effects? In reality all you might need (most people need I should say) is a delay and perhaps some chorus with cleans. I dont recall a multieffects unit with sucky delays but there sure are bad choruses around.I wouldnt recommend buying drivers (distortions, overdrives or fuzzes) to run before your amp, cuz chances are they are going to sound like crap. That is my experience with solid state amps and might not be true with this amp. another question to ask is what are u comparing the effects to? I mean still some stand alone units sounds better than 1k effects units.
Members marshallspaul
honestly....my opinion is that your ears are better than your amp work hard and save up for better gear it sounds to me, like you may not want an amp modeler you may want two different kinds of amps that give you quality tone via good speakers and the appropriate power tubes and whatage for your needs your expectations of the B. Amp are too high you are not going to get what you want from it
