Members Kipperfetish
I play in a prog metal/rock band and we have out first gig comeing up soon. Im the only guitarist and we have a keyboard player, 6 string bass and drums also (and singer) (same format as dream theater, but we dont really sound like them, despite them being our biggest influence). I know if there were two players i would have to raise my volume above the other player when i play solos but im wondering if i will need to in this band? Im thinking about getting a danelectro fish'n'chips to put in the loop and step on it to raise my volume. Will i need to? This is my first gig so i dont really have any experience. Please help. Members mumford
Nah, it being your first gig, and you being a guitar player, you're going to play way louder than everyone else anyway. Of course, if not, then yes.
Members thor653
From my experience in bands, I would boost the signal in some way. I play in a 4 piece right now with me being the only guitarist. If I don't boost during solos I get drown out.
Members Kipperfetish
im already boosting up front with a tube screamer, or do you mean volume too (such as eq in loop)

Members FLYING V 83
Go to GC and buy a Bad Monkey for $40. Throw it in front of your tubescreamer to use as a soloing pedal. Problem solved.

Members Woody777
Just throw the EQ in the loop so it's there if you need it.
