Members erik92da
So ive had my Phase 90 for a few years and only used it to color leads which it works great for. Today i bought an old DOD FX20-B phaser that has some more knobs to tweak and have realized how much i like a stronger phase as opposed to flange (im ready to ditch my Boss BF-2). What are some other good phasers to try? The Small Stone looks very simple. Im looking for something i can tweak alot. Is the Boss PH-3 good? Thanks,Erik

Members varialbender
Yeah, the ph-3 was not for me. Very fake.
Members erik92da
Any opinions on the Digitech Hyper Phase? Im guessing thats gonna sound pretty digital too...

Members Z0S0
I love my Electro-Harmonix SmallStone phaser. It can do a wide range of sounds, especially when using the "colour" switch.
Members erik92da
Well, i like the features of the Boss PH-3, but the digital-sound thing worries me. The Boss site only had soundclips of it clean and I would be using it mostly with distortion.
Members cutlerman
If you have it in the budget I would look into a Maxon PH-350 Rotary Phaser. It is very versatile, you can switch between 4, 6, and 10 stages, and it sounds amazing. If the budget is lower the Digitech isn't too bad. Does sound digital (that's what is is) but for the money it's good.

Members erik92da
The more i look at the Ph-3 the more i realize im probably not going to use half of the modes. I WOULD like to find a Ph-2 though...

The six stage setting, imo, is where its at. Other cool phasers: Electro Harmonix Bad Stone.. another six stage, but a little rare.ModMax damn expensive, but way versatile. Hard to findQuasar (no personal experience,) but from the clips I have heard, you would be hard pressed to do wrong.

Members BmoreTele
Tweakable phaser under $100? I loves me a challenge. Ibanez PH99 - analog, positive and negative resonance, triangle or square wave, 4 or 8 stages ("normal or intense").Arion SPH-1 - analog, speed, depth, resonance, stereo outs.I just got a Maxon PT999 which sounds verrrrry nice, but it's just got a speed knob. Pretty limited tweakage.I didn't care for the Digitech HyperPhase - as I feared, it has that digital metallic edge. Cool options though, including step phasing. Members usa83strat
if you can get a Ibanez pt-9 phaser they are cool, i got one i was gonna sell it, but after not having a chorus for a day and play it i've rediscovered the joy of phasers. its good . they can be had on the $60 range. it doesnt get supper crasy phasing, but is nice, since i dont realy use a really heavy effects, if i want a really effected sound i jus use to modulation pedal i specaily like chorus and phaser together. with my wah and some dirt, a a touch of delay. have you done the r28 mod to the Phase 90? it supposed to make it much more lush. you could always get a phase 100. i really dont know much about phasers i know i like how they sound, but i read a lot of thing here about these: red witch moon phaser pigtronix phaser mutron phaser Moogs maxon pt999 and boss ph1

Members GCDEF
Kind of a different thing, the the Red Witch Moon Phaser sounds great. Several phase voices, tremolo, and one of the best sounding univibe sounds you'll run across.
