Members BigsbySF
I exported a song out of Reason as a standard midifile, put it on my SD card, and pulled it in to myTR61. When I try to assign a piano sound to the piano track, each note has a percussion hit and a pad pitchassigned to it, as well as the piano pitch. Needlessto say, when the piano track plays back, it soundslike a complete mess. This also happens when I assigna bass sound set to the bass track, or any other soundto any track. The same percussion hits and padpitches play along with the bass, or other instrumentnotes. This happens when I play back the sequence, or try to play the instrument patch on the keyboard. Yes, I am a workstation and harware sequencer programming newbie. How do I remove the percussion sounds and pad soundsfrom the actual instrument selction I'm trying tomake? Is this some kind of combination setting thatgot implemented when I imported my midi file? Also, how should one structure one's drum track in asoftware sequencer (like Reason) so that the samedrums (kick, snare, hihat, etc.) play back when youimport it into a TR61? Members BigsbySF
I think I've answered my own question. Create a version of the Reason song with no instruments, only note information, and export that. Painfully obvious with a little thought. Re: drums... Create a sampler drumset that has the same key mapping as the drums in the Korg TR61. Move the notes around from the drum program in the piano scroll view until the right drum elements play. Also pretty obvious.
Members moogerfooger
it's only obvious in hind sight -- midi is like that -- but hey-- you thought it through - and you'll get over the next hurdle even quicker -- good job
