Members FrettnOvrNuttn
Well, it does have more knobs, which gives you at least the illusion of more control.Which is nice.I'm kind of a control freak, you see.

Members endo23
If you're really a control freak then you'll love the Direct Drive-- TRIM KNOBS. And a PUSH/PULL switch. OOOOoooooh. And I don't see people offering "modded" Direct Drives. Ahem... isn't the Sparkle just a TS clone?
Members KarateSchnitzel
see i love the sparkle........... and yes it is a tubescreamer clone..but with a clean control to blend in the direct signal....or with it on full a clean signal..and AFAIk it has some changes to the output section.. my favourite pedal at the mo..............rediscovering it.. Members endo23
Well, it always makes me think of Sparklehorse, which is a good thing... Why not buy 'em both and keep the one you like best?

My least favorite thing about most distortion and OD pedals is that you either crank it up or not. I love the idea of being able to crank up AND take back some of the clarity of the original signal.I freely admit; I want my cake & eat it.It's my damn cake anyway. Members therhodeo
I have both on my board right now and I love my SD for semi clean rhythm playing, but I'm having a hard time making the DD sound good. It just isnt clear and give me the old blanket over the speaker sound. I'm sure i can fix it if i mess with the trim knobs so if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. Members FrettnOvrNuttn
Well, I picked up a VooDoo Labs Overdrive in the meantime. It's meaty as Hell. I think I actually did pretty well the first time out by picking up a Snarling Dogs Black Dog.
