Members BmoreTele
... or any kind of dirt pedal with a built in LFO. I was thinking about this - not the typical grunting sound of distortion plus a square wave tremolo, or even the gritty throb of a univibe into a fuzz face - those both contrast the full on distorted sound with silence or at least relative volume drop. I'm thinking more like the volume stays constant but the drive varies with the LFO pattern. Hit a chord and tweak the drive knob on any dirt pedal and you get close. Problem is the perception of volume drop. If there would be a way to even out the levels, it could be a very cool sound. Then start getting complicated LFO wave forms and go to town! Is there anything like this out there?
Members StompboxMan
The LFO affects the Octave Fuzz in a Lovetone Ring Stinger for slight tremolo sound. 4MS makes pedals with the option of an LFO. My Noise Swash distortion has an LFO and with it's self oscillation plays itself. www.4mspedals.com
Members dotlikeimpact
to keep volume levels consistent, it would need a compressor after it, with the lfo adjusting the threshold. cool idea, though. i've long wanted a dirt pedal with and expression input for this sort of thing.
