Members seifukusha
well, Ive run the pedals thru the loop and as a pop/rock style player, Id thought Id state some ideas. first I play these... thru a microcube in my house for jamming. usually set on jc120. so yeah... LOFI: my favorite pedal of all. the vibrato is gorgeous. I tend to keep the tone dark and record with it on full volume. Great for drones as well as reggae riffs (the dark vibe adds alot of minor chords). Very easy to get addicted to this pedal. funky switch though, cuts the sound out sometimes. If I had to have just one pedal, it would be this (with my od-1, thats 2). $500 new (way too much, but its imported) FF: the infamous. Alot of good sounds. Can be a boost, a fuzz face, bigmuff-ish, etc. Put an od pedal before it to boost the mids and it comes thru. Very transparent pedal, your guitar really comes thru. I will use it sometimes. its a great third wheel to some classic fuzz pedals. very hi fi , can bequite modern sounding . Korean script number 2, $200new nano head: awesome. it is what is says. havent had too much time with it yet, more on that later. $300 new super duper: sparkley, very loud, but your tone comes thru. I like it as a dirt pedal with both channels on, too. transparent. it is your guitar signal coming thru. $200 new seek trem: will probably traded this in for a tremorama for the extra goodies. its awesome as a square wave trem. probably the best. the patterns are unbelievable. small footprint. {censored} and mousey on the front (my japanese gal's fave pedal of my collection!). i find its best to tweak it while playing. very inspring. with a sd2n1 before it. i find with only one pot open , it sounds like the repeat percussion pedal that alone is way cool. i doesnt do sine wave stuff too well IMO but the rest of it makes it for it. some people say its goes for classic amp trem, too. $300 new wah probe (now sold): pukey and smooth (some say like a colorsound, i say like my dod wah!). doesnt take long to get used to the sensor, but still not a crybaby. long wail. switch is set up like any other wah, at the head. very synthy. the sho before can affect the wah-ness of the sound. $150 (trade in) used trem probe: like it says. wah probe without the wah. can be set up for a boost into a dirty amp. silent. $200 new machine. sounds like a electric storm taking on electronic signals. i like it after my pedals. can be white noise like or with a little finesse add some 3-d ness to a signal. sometimes industrial sounding, sometimes classic rock sound (depends), very tweakable, but a niche pedal indeed $170 new (out of the first 20 of 2000, sat in the shop for all those years) octane 3: octave up fuzz with a ring modulator. based on a super fuzz circuit? if u dig octave ups, dirt sounds very flexible, a decent eq, completely changes thickness of tone. the rm makes it stand out from the others.. $70 new in traded in, yes $70 johnny octave. clangy, two octaves up. a bit of dirt in there too. very loud! prettypurple going on. first one is instant tracking. thickens up the sound a bit, but not clean. this is also a ring modulator kind of sound. neck pup. tone on 0. interesting. $120 in trade. new the verdict for me. want to hear the pedals in action? go here. zvex song, all hail the king, and we all fall down are straight up zvex pedal songs. well, the lofi is a keeper. i may find a way of getting one more (in a trade) theyre great pedals to ajm with, cause theyre so small and easy to use. no overdub? no prob! thee sd2n1, ff, seektrem, and nano also will stay, and if i can get another wah probe (sounds great on electric organ too!). the jo, machine, octane3, and trem probe are great, but maybe not MY cup of tea. I do like pedals alot, but maybe they could be used more by others. Ill probably trade them in for my ringtone and tremorama. questions? joey
Members GuyaGuy
so not much in the way of info/impressions on the Trem Probe. zvex obviously is the cutting edge of pedaldom but... the Trem Probe always seemed to me to be the least impressive of zvex's line-up. i'm sure someone out there was thrilled to see something like it on the market but to me it seems like a very expensive, unnecessarily expensive volume pedal. granted i've not actually played one... oh...nice clip. i like the way it seems like it's gonna break apart into chaos at any given moment. The zvex trem probe does the slow trem absolutely perfect.. Your foot will get incredibly tired...and it may not be practical for too long...but it's damn perfect slow trem Also, it cleans up beautifully when used as a volume pedal with a high gain amp... IF you're familiar with using the super-hardon on the clean channel of an amp.. IT adds a beautiful presence...Well, the trem probe does something similar..like a volume pedal that adds a sparkly presence... sounds beautiful Volume swells...don't even think about another pedal... The zvex is in a category by itself.. The most beautiful lush volume swells possible...try it with lots of delay

Zvex's confirmed this as the lowest selling zvex pedal - by a country mile IIRC. It's pretty obvious why - there's little wow factor in a volume effect and they're not cheap. It's a bit better than a regular volume pedal though - you can tap out some irregular beats/swells that you can do rocking a pot, and it won't wear out.Machine is pretty much the only Zvex pedal I'm interested in... Never seen only locally though

Members seifukusha
That Gretsch is amazing.thanks. i got it in a shop for like $944. The guy didnt know what it was. binding on it is crap (typical gretsch), but sounds lovely...I just found a heavy modded 67 Gretsch 6120 for $1200 or so. Im debating. Same pups and all. Do I need to of the same guitar? its still lovely..
