Pedal for the Larry Carlton sound? Help!

Hey all, wondering if there's a pedal out there that'll give me that fat lead sound, Ala Larry Carlton and Robben Ford, that cranked mesa mark I tone of the late 70's. I've got the boogie, but can't use it both clean and overdriven, so I'd rather run it clean, and have a stomp-box for the lead sound. Any ideas? Thanks,

Kurt

Have you tried something as common as a TS808/TS9 ?

The lead tone on esp Mr. 335 Live in Japan, but also "Larry Carlton" reminds me of a Twin with tubescreamer kind of sound. It's not as smooth as his later Dumble tones imo.

seriously, a good ts-type pedal and a twin, or better yet a super is the way to go. just that combination will get you a lot of the way there.
