However, it seems that this super clean tone can be manipulated with some effects into amazing sounds. I want to be able to get a nice (not thrashy) distortion with good sustain. Gear will most likely be a Vintage, Hylight Era (mid 70s)Hiwatt Custom 100 DR105 or Custom 50 DR504 Head with the original cab loaded with either celestion or fane speakers (not sure what is in it yet.) The guitar will be, once again most likely, an Eric Johnson signature Stratocaster. So, a thick and warm distortion with good sustain, any ideas? Thanks.
