How much of a turn off is an 18 volt pedal to you.

Pretty much the same here, I have the Dunlop thing and it has 18v outputs.

Depends on the pedal, but there's a good chance you could hurt it. Maybe even blow some stuff up.

I'm fine with oddball adaptors. I prefer 9V for the simplicity, but I'd rather have the best pedal setup than the best adaptor setup, so if your pedal fits my pedal setup, I'll ugly up the powerbar. EHX and Moog are doing so already.
I've been wondering the same thing, so thanks for asking the question.
