I want to get....a POG and a Sixteen second delay.

I could get one right now...which one should I get first?

Also, if you want to talk me out of getting either one you can do that too. Obviously the HOG can do so much more stuff but....I'm not sure if I want to spend that much...

anyways...discuss...

and even more: he's asking which one to buy FIRST...

that's a good anti-GAS mantra: quit telling yourself you need the stuff, or MIGHT be needing it/using it any time soon.

Be aware of your Wanting and then just go for it... or not...

I find it interesting that you're adding 'weird' pedals to your (impressive/decent) arsenal, without completing the 'traditional' part of it, ie. a new wah or an overdrive (maybe just one, but still...) ...

with a POG you can get that organ'y tone, maybe a vibe/phaser/leslie-sim, to add to that??

my vote would be for the looper, because I still lack the guts to justify it for myself...

I just recently got a keeley modded blues driver. I'm borrowing a fulltone from a friend too. I use clean or amp overdrive for most of everything I play. I could use a wah, and acually thought about buying one first but (this may seem strange) I'm going to get more use out of the wierd/strage pedals right now.

Any more thoughts?

I would get a HOG and then wait for the new Boomerang stereo looper or look into other loopers like the Boss RC-50.

"So, ok here are my thoughts on the HOG. First, you pretty much have to buy the preset controller given the variables involved. Second, attaching a foot controller to it is critical as it opens up some the heavy duty options. Third, yes the price is a bit hard to swallow, but there are so many viable ways to use this you'd need 5 pedals or so get in the ballpark.

My impression of the features: The input gain is really sensitive and can clip easily. However, the clipping isn't an awful thing like you might think of A/D clipping. It puts a bit/crunch on the signal so it's totally useable. Then there

I had a dl4 and then it just stopped working. I'm refusing to buy it again....The dd-20 does alot of looping type stuff too...using the feedback and such. I've gotten pretty good at using it but...the available click and reverse and sweep options on the ELH are the selling points for me.

I'd wait and get the new Boomerang or look into one of the lower-priced Manecoloopers... they just look more functional than the 16-Second Delay to me. I have an old school 'Rang and use it ALL THE TIME.

Loopers are incredible tools for both practice and band applications, IMO. You can't go wrong with one.

(The POG, on the other hand, is a more gimmicky effect, and not something you can use on every tune.)

Actually, I'd get the HOG and the 2880 now that I think about it. The 2880 has a midi in, which the 16 second delay lacks (the 16 second delay has a midi out but no midi in, I would much rather have my other midid devices with exact BPM controls and quick easy switching controlling the tempo rather than a pedal with a crappy little slider controlling the tempo.
