i think they played here in London, ONT.

The press gave them good reviews.

I saw a trailer from one of the adds on the local tv station.

I don't know....I though I could play the solo to Money better than what I saw.

But hey...I shouldn't judge by a 15 sec snipit that was them just doing a sound check!

Is that the Australian one?

Whether it is or not, I've seen the Australian Pink Floyd band and they were pretty good. I noticed a few little mistakes here and there, but 99% of people would never know the difference. They weren't too exciting on stage either, but what do you expect for a bunch of guys making a living trying to be someone else... :o

Overall, recommended

I thought they were called "The Australian Pink Floyd Experience"?

Either way, how much are tickets? I figure they can't be too expensive since it's a tribute band, and if it's a tribute band that gets booked they must play pretty well. Ergo, you should go. :)

There's prolly more than 1 Pink Floyd tribute band in the world. The 1 I'm thinking of has 3 members (from memory). I think most of the music is played from midi and they have a big visual show to go with it.

I don't know... but the Australian one has played at some big festivals in Europe and and apparently pretty good. I work with their old bassist and soundguy... who was at Gilmours party when they all jammed. :)

"DID THEY REALLY PLAY AT DAVID GILMOURS BIRTHDAY?
The Aussie Floyd received the ultimate endorsement in 1996, becoming the only Floyd tribute band to be asked to perform for a member of Pink Floyd, namely David Gilmour's 50th birthday celebrations in London At DG's 50th birthday party, The Australian Pink Floyd worked with many of the crew members who had been on The Division Bell world tour. As Britannia Row supplied the production for the event, much of the sound and lighting equipment was the exact same gear that had been used at Earl's Court.

HAVE THEY EVER PLAYED WITH PINK FLOYD?
At DG's birthday, the APF were joined on stage by Richard Wright and Guy Pratt, for a rousing rendition of Comfortably Numb. They then happily handed over their instruments to David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Guy Pratt, Tim Renwick, Gary Wallis and Claudia Fontaine, and were treated to renditions of 'Money', 'What do you want from me', and various other jams, much to the delight of the other party guests."

I believe they're from San Diego. I hung out w/ them after a show in Detroit, and I know they tour a lot in Canada.

Honestly, they're not as impressive as the Aussies (or The Surrogate Band!) but it's still a pretty entertaining show, and they're really cool dudes to hang out with. Gus (the bass player) is a trip!

Let me know what you think if you go!

mmmmm - seems like we can't quite work out where they are from.

I've seen the "Pink Floyd Experience" a couple of times. They are from New Zelaland. They have been touring The Wall for a while now.

Great band. At their last two gigs they basically played for an hour or so, had a break and then kicked into the whole of the Wall. Talk about value for money.

They sounded great. the Singer does a great Roger Waters.

The guitarist was using a Strat w EMG's through a 5150 stack, which suprisingly sounded fantastic.
