Members anti-flag193
is under say $130 and has a little more clarity than my usa big muff? I love my big muff but when I gig I feel it gets lost a bit in the mix. I want something huge and thick sounding, just with a little more bite than the big muff. Thanks. Members stent
you could try running an overdrive pedal before the big muff, if there is EQ on the overdrive pedal you can tweak it to cut a little more.

Thanks. yes. you want the ZOOM Ultra Fuzz. to be had under $90 when it pops up here or on ebay. apart from all of the other fuzz sounds, you can get a huge-ass Muff sound. but it also has a COLOR knob, which acts like a blender. it controls the amount of saturation, as it were. so you can dial in a big-ole fuzz sound and back off the COLOR just enough that it's not so boomy. Members TaronKeim
Check out the Huckleberry at Tonefactor... it has a mix of Fuzz Face and Big Muff going on... is really aggressive, wall of sound, but at the same time seems to be really defined http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=Huckleberry The Barge Concepts BB-1 Jr. will also do what you are looking for and is a far more crazy, tight, metal-ish fuzz... but it can be tamed down too... its based on the Roland Bee-Baa... which is a killer fuzz http://www.bargeconcepts.com/bbnew.html And lastly... the Everman Ultra Drive... the clips don't do it justice... it is a refined Muff with a more hi-fi quality... still does oozing walls of sound... but you can hear every note and it cuts through the mix very well. Also has a scoop control to take out the mids for a modern fuzz/metal sound http://www.jeverman.com/ud.html Hope this helps. -TJK
Members warioblast
I I Vsighttp://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/Roadrunner/Supersonic_Fuzz-1.html I can make some {censored}ty clips wth my digital camera , and do an A/B sample with my Creamy Dreamer muff.To me the roadrunner is a muff with more mids; a more compressed sound, wth a grainier fuzz than the muff (at least my creamy).... don't know if it sounds like a solasound tonebender, like I read in some Australian online shop if I'm not mistaken. I like the Huckleberry a lot. Sound great. The BB-1 jr I didn't like too much from the clips, and the Everman is a bit out of my range, but sounds good as well. Thanks man. No problem... and trust me on the BB-1... those clips don't do it justice... you gotta dial it in... but it really is a spectacular fuzz... does vintage and a modern and nothing else really sounds like it. But the Huckleberry does sound killer... I'm going to pick on up! -TJK
Members Occam
I like how in the review of the Fuzzwork Orange it list some of the modern improvements as being true bypass. Fuzz Faces have always been true bypass.

Members anti-flag193
What do you guys think of the Omega Fuzz? That's well within my price range and the clips sound decent. Taron-the more I look at that bb-jr the more I like it. I wish someone had clips.
Members opultaM
Check out www.effector13.comDevi's got an assortment of different fuzzes there. Maybe one fits the bill. I have the SM and it does the wall well for me.I second the recommendation of trying combined with an OD.

That's how Rev put it there, but it's not like that in the manual. The modern improvements have more to do with polarity protection, LED, 9V DC center negative jack, etc.It just says a few lines further on in the manual 'The Fuzzwork Orange is a versatile true bypass overdrive/fuzz.'But please don't get me started on how lots of builders try to pass on standard stuff as 'innovations'.
