I was just wondering what I would need to get a sound like Matthew Bellamy's form Muse, I love his sound... I know he has a Diezel VH4, and a ZVEX fuzz factory, thats about it, Ive got a FF being shipped to me as I type, and this summer I am 100% getting a Diezel, not sure on whether I should get the VH4-S, VH4, or the Herbert, Im kinda' aiming more towards the VH4/VH4-S, and Im getting a PRS modern eagle, I realy want to be able to get his sound, I just think its awsome... If you have any pics of his rig please, please, please post them, more detailed ones would be better, or just tell me anyhting you know that I could do to get his sound...I use a bunch of effects now, and I am running a Mesa MK IV head now, but as I said I will soon have a Diezel, and I hope that will get me even closer to that sound...

Everyones always "im getting, im getting, im getting".

Microphone and mic placement has JUST as much to do with that tone as the amp and pedals... along with the way that you play the guitar.

Jerry Cantrell once told me that when he was on tour with Van Halen back in the day, Eddie asked him to play through his set up. He said "Eddie sounds like Eddie playing any guitar through any amp- the tone is IN HIS HANDS".

you have MUCH to learn young grasshoppa.

A reply does not a thread make.

Your putting way too much thought and your dad's money into gear, and not enough into learning how to play. Why the hell you need a Modern Eagle and all the other {censored} you claim to have is beyond me.

Still waiting on Pic # 1 of any gear you have.

What are you talking about? You seem to know nothing about anything, and you're ridiculing someone who gave you good advice.

If you're for real, I have never met anyone this spoiled. You just keep ordering and ordering. I remember in a previous thread you said that you had like 2 delays and 3 more on the way? I'm sorry, but NOBODY needs that. Try earning your stuff.

Since you have all of this gear, let's hear some clips and see if you're making use of it.

Matt Bellamy has custom guitars (one has a Fuzz Factory built into it!) but I think theyre roughly based on Fernandez Stratocasters (I may be wrong here).

As far as effects go, he uses a Line 6 DL4's Sweep Echo for delay, and he uses a Digitech Whammy WH-4 in some songs. I think he uses a Roland VG-88 Guitar Synthesiser/Modelling System on the song Dark Shines too.

Edit: Apparently it's actually 3 of his guitars that have a built in Fuzz Factory. If your looking for a Muse kind of sound, this seems to be the pedal to get, along with the DL4.

Someone once told me the same thing a long long time ago when Muse was just starting ... either he didn't know Radiohead at all, or Muse at all, but after having heard this statement from many places, I seriously have trouble finding any similarities, except that they're both from the same continent.
