Good, Versatile "Base" OD

I've been using the Timmy, but the bass response isn't quite as good as I'd like. Then I have to turn down the bass and my whole sound is a bit too trebly. I hear you can mod the Timmy's but I'm not handy at all with that stuff. Any suggestions?

Eternity? Zendrive?

RC Booster with the COT50 running into it is a great combination. The RC Booster itself with give you plenty of girth and then the COT50 will give you the sweet, dynamic, pick responsive breakup and cutting tone. I love my Eternity but I find myself using the RC + 50 stack more and more each day. An Eternity would be a great choice as well. Also, take a look at the Skreddy Screw Driver. Does great low gain and has really cool tone controls.

I think the RC might be the way to go. I want to love the Timmy, and sometimes I do, but it's not working out all the time. I think the RC + COT is much more practical for what I play. The RC could also double for a really warm clean boost when I play jazz (so could the Timmy, I suppose). I'm not sure. What can the RC do that the Timmy can't t hat would make it worth my time to trade with someone?

I'm sure it'll fix my bass problem, but is there any other reason i should be looking at the RC, Arjae? I just don't want to really miss my Timmy afterwards. While I'm not thrilled with it now, I'm not sure if I"ll like the RC Boost more.

I *think* the Timmy has more gain than the RC, so maybe you'd like the RC more. A Reverend Drivetrain II is also another good pedal in the Timmy vein, but it needs to be opened up quite a bit volume-wise to get to the good stuff...

How much gain are you using with the Timmy, and where are you setting the Bass and Treble controls?

I just closed a trade on the RC Boost, though. Hopefully that'll be for me.

Well, those settings usually give a pretty tight but full bass response.

Give the RC a try - it's a good pedal from what I've read. One thing I can tell you is don't go for an AC Booster if you don't like the RC - it's very similar to the Timmy IMO...

Yeah, the bass isn't so bad with those settings.

However, I don't know why I need such a versatile pedal when I'm only using it as a boost. I made my trade, and I made $20 in the deal, so, hopefully the RC Booster will live up to the Timmy on those settings.. and I'll be happy.
