so here's a little clip. it's not really typical of what i normally do. and yet when i'm playing alone and have my DD-20 all warmed up i frequntly find myself doing this kind of minmalism-inspired looping with shifting parts.

i just wanted to throw it out into cyberspace and ask you guys the question...

"Is this anything?"

1.) i recorded this while still getting out the glitches of my laptop recording setup so bear with the hiccups.

2.) if you get bored, fast forward to around 3:45, when the shoegazer noise starts!

so that's 2 thumbs up and an admission to late night tv talk show viewing. not bad for starters!

setup: i used the DD-20, Dano Daddy-o, Ultra Fuzz, and i believe the FX-90--all into the acoustic G60.
that was miked with a Shure Beta series going into the Line 6 Toneport, which goes into my Dell Inspiron 1300, which is recording with Ableton Live.

everything was improvised except for that rhythmic theme at the beginning. looping w/ the DD-20 is fun cuz you can use the 23 sec delay time as loop time and toggle between 2 modes to cut out previous loop layers! wheee!

i found it really easy and i'd never spent much time w/ recording software. it seems really intuitive and the drawing function (you'll see!) is stupendous. yes, stupendous!

the tutorial seems geared more toward loopers/electronics/hiphop. but it has a useful help section.

Hi, vagina!

What's it like to be a lonely troll dying for some attention from faceless men on an internet forum? :freak:

I would ask you to post some of your {censored}, but we all know you haven't got the balls to. :thu:

I see a lot of potential in it, I think you should keep working with it.......my only criticism is that the fuzz tone didn't settle well with me.

If you keep messing with it, keep me updated:thu:
