Members john l Posted May 9, 2006 Members Share Posted May 9, 2006 If you dont know anything about what makes an amp work then dont even start to trouble shoot. If you do know a thing or two about working safley then... Check the screen grid resistors individually to see if any read out of the stated value Remove the tubes and look for arcing on the sockets. Arching is a black charred looking substance that leaves a conductive path where ever it lies and can link two components together that shouldnt touch. If there is arching you need to replace the socket or at least clean it off as best you can. Loose connections inside the amp that are shorting to the chassis could also keep blowing fuses. Lastly the problem could also lie in one or more bad filter capacitors. Does anyone have that {censored}ed up picture of the fingers that got zapped to stress the point of not touching {censored} if you dont know what your doing?
