Just made a new switching pedal

Check it out I made a 4 way true bypass pedal with an AB option.

Basically the order is input to modulation loop to distortion loop where I have an A/B pedal to switch between rythm and lead tones which then goes to an EQ loop which goes out to my volume pedal pack into this switching pedal and then finally through the delay loop and out to the amp.

I made the case out of some aluminum that I cut and bent to shape and bolted in place.

I was going to order a loooper a while back and I always figured i'd have to right on it which loop was what. I dont think I could remember which was what if i just had a board full of pedals with loopers at the front.

I'm, the same way. I have it written down and after several month of use, I go on auto pilot and pretty much know which switch is which. Also the writting helps me to wire it up easily and quickly.

Just didn't have the cash to get a loooper so figured I'd build it myself, sure the casing doesn't look professional, hence the reason why the case cost me about 50 cents in aluminum.

The most expensive part was the switches. I figure total build cost with all materials was around $70 canadian.

With that board I would only look at the switching pedals, too much eye candy int he rest of the board. :D

Nice setup!

pretty neat man! what bypass you use 3pdt?

i making one soon with milenium
:D
6 way looper

30, why do you ask?

I used 4 x 3pdt for the true bypass loops and one x DPDT for the A/B option. Actually it's kinda weird but I can get 3pdt switches for 60% of the price of a DPDT switch.

I made a quick shematic in Adobe from memory. I think it's right.

Seriously, this looks great. I love the switch for od/distortion AND gain bypass. I would take function over looks any day.

Thanks for the compliment. Actually I love the a/b switch bypass, this way I can have two different heavy distortions loading the circuit and bypassing them creates a perfectly clean sound(no fuzzing or distortion overloading noise.

Absolutely NO offense intended here:
That board and multi-looper boards in general are great arguments for buffers.

Personally, I use 2-3 pedals at a time at most.
This, I avoid buffers.

Uh, did you actually look at the pedals?

Bad Monkey has a buffer (at the front of the chain)

DOD Bi-Fet has a buffer (at the end of the chain)

All non-TB pedals are in the Looopers.

All George L cables.

No tone or signal loss.

I did my homework.

I know....

I was referring ot all the lengths of cables.

Why did I even bother putting the 'no offense' on there?

NO ONE IS ABLE TO KEEP PERSPECTIVE HERE.

i think thats only an issue with everything turned on at once, which might sound a little :freak: anyway... i think this length of cables arguement is seriously over-stated...

You never mentioned the cables, just the buffers.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't offended at all. Just thought you missed seeing the buffered pedals. As for the cables, I've had boards with only 3 pedals hooked together with generic 1 ft patch cables that were noisy as hell. With my current board, I plug straight into the amp and sound just like going thru the board if no pedals are on, so like I said: no tone or signal loss.

Nope. there's a noticable difference after 18 feet.
It's basic electronics and math.
