Members dcooper830
well.. I did.. and I really didn't think it was that great. Some people really liked the new models but I didn't really get much out of 'em...I haven't tried the new wah models.. so I can't comment on them. But after upgrading... I noticed I now have a low level hum coming from my POD XT PRO which makes it almost useless for direct recording unless I get some sort of noise gate or something. Very irritating. Then I went to the Line 6 forums and read that a lot of people are having problems after doing the upgrade. Their units are randomly cycling through parameters.. or the display is solid yellow and nothing else happens...there are a few known bugs with the clocking on the XT PRO and the bass pack models also....I say... if I were you... don't do it!Wait till all the bugs get worked out.I wished I hadn't done it... cause my unit now has a low level hum that it didn't before... I don't have a clue as to what to do about that.

Members dcooper830
Originally posted by Zakko Yeah, just roll back the firmware. Yeah but I was reading posts in the Line 6 forums... and they were saying they did a rollback of the firmware but it didn't help.. They still had yellow screens, wildly changing parameters, no start up, no sound etc... so I'm afraid to do a rollback or anything at this point. I should probably be happy my POD XT PRO works at all after all the problems I was reading about.
Phil O'Keefe
Wow - thanks for the heads-up on that. I had already d/l the updates and was planning on installing them sometime this week. I think I will wait for a while after reading this.

I don't know if you have gone to the line 6 forum at all... but you can read all the horror stories there.....
Members Zakko
EDIT: I was curious about the hum, and yeah...I got it.I've yet to roll it back. Too lazy.

Are you saying you got that same hum problem I did after you upgraded to 3.1?Here's what happened with me.... I did a rollback and it helped somewhat.. but there was still a hum. Then I ran it through my Ebtech Hum Eliminator and it cured it.So then I went ahead and re-installed the upgrade and the hum is still terrible!!But...... the Ebtech Hum Eliminator completely cures it! I don't have a clue as to how a software update could cause a ground loop...... But I know the hum eliminator cures the problem and so I'm happy. As far as the new features... I haven't used them yet... but I got 'em if I want 'em.
