Members tnttnttnt
Hey, I just wanted to make a note here about John Christ, one of the most underrated players out there. He played on all the early Danzig albums (the good ones) and he has fantastic skills and tone. Check out his gear here: http://www.johnchrist.com/gear.html He released an excellent cd a few years back called "Flesh Caffeine". I was probably the only one who bought it, as the rest were too busy listening to Limp Biscuit. Highly recommended. Check it out: http://www.johnchrist.com

Members amanonfire
true. i also always loved his string ad on the back of guitar world that had him in a cemetary with his guitar and it said below the picture "the harder you pound em the louder they scream" i always thought that was awesome in a horribly cheesy kind of way. Members tnttnttnt
I don't think that he's been doing anything lately. It's a shame, 'cause he has an amazing almost classic tone and an attitude of a real guitar hero.

Members dealer
last I heard he was goofing around in a nugent tribute band or something. I saw him play with danzig 3 or 4 times... great player, a little too 'stiff' for my liking. if you're going to play those bluesy sabbath-style hooks, you should have a little bit of swagger. he had the chops but not the swagger. a. Yeah, he was a shredder trying to fit into a bluesy-metal band started by punk rock guys. I read an interview where he said that he first joined, was so technically-oriented that they laughed at him. I have to disagree about the swagger comment, though, old Danzig has a seriously slithering groove. Strippers are apparently fond of the early works as a soundtrack to their bumping and grinding (so I'm told). The solos are usually stiff as hell, his lead tone wasn't really anything special and his 80's roots were totally out of place (e.g. two-handed tapping on the end solo of Mother) One of his Rich Bich's hangs in the Hard Rock in Baltimore. I go to Johns Hopkins a few times every year, so I try to make it there just to stare at it.
Members agentcooper2001
We hung out with John & Eerie a few times in the early 90's and they are really nice guys. I was under 21 then and they took care of my beer situation! John is definitely a great and underrated guitarist. I used to be very into Danzig in back then and it was cool to be around them. I don't listen to them much these days though. I was curious as to what he was up to now. I can't believe he's just playing in a ted nugent cover band. This thread needs to be resurrected so we can all discuss IMHO one of the most underrated guitarists out there (and my personal favorite). As to the comment of his solos being "stiff." He explains in an interview that Glenn Danzig limited his solos and that he was never really allowed to cut loose much. He was originally a classicaly trained jazz guitarist attending Berkley or some other snooty music college when he first joined Danzig if memory serves. I've read a few of the threads about Danzig and John Christ and you all say, "get the first 3 albums" or "the first 3 are classics." What the hell is wrong with the 4th album?!?!? I'm a Danzig fanatic (Not much of a Misfits fan though) and the fourth album is my favorite. All the songs except for maybe a couple are killer. Explain yourselves!!!!
