Members Non-Digital Tom
It took a while to get an answer, but they finally got back to me and said they were very impressed but they "didn't think it would be a good fit for their clientele." They also said if they did carry it, I wouldn't be able to sell it on my website. Between this and my recent website problems, I'm feeling a little discouraged here... Members TaronKeim
I won't sell your book Tom...But I'll by a copy with my Moog Delay and H.O.G purchase in a month or two:D And no need to feel discouraged... you'll get your website running how you want it to in no time Web advice: don't higher anyone who is interested in it because they are a web designer/musician... they're ALL slackers... get someone who is soley a geek and loves making things functional and keeping them up to date... just my experience in web service industry. And as for Guitar Center... thats harsh... and was probably there way of saying "sorry... we can't rip enough people off with your product".Have you tried Long and McQuade up here in Canada?-TJK

I would. Seriously, your book is a stellar piece of informational writing. If they can't see that it deserves some shelf space, it's definitely their loss and not yours. Yeah , that just means that it doesn't talk up enough of the effects they're currently selling in their stores. And realistically, it probably isn't a good fit for their clientele. Most of the people shopping there probably aren't that into vintage stuff. Think about the people you always see wanking away when you visit...it's all 13-year-old shredders, parents of 13-year-old shredders buying birthday presents, and hobbyists buying Boss pedals.I agree that it's probably better Barnes and Noble fodder, right next to the books on vintage Fenders and Gibsons. Members st. fermin
See if a cool store manager will buy some in 'sideways'. Sometimes those guys have to circumvent the bullsh!t from GC corporate to get cool stuff in the store. Gotta love how they demand 100% exclusivity, but then if it doesn
Members NoirAbattoir
They probably just figured there wasn't enough profit margin in it. You should have put Munky and Chimp on the cover.

Members Jaymeister
I can see their point...why steer customers away from the Boss or Dano display to oggle over real vintage tones. What about an amazon or chapters?

Members itstartsstoppin
sorry to hear that. mabey their clientele would change to more than 16 year old's in punk bands if they acually carried your book and more than boss and line 6.

Members Howard Davis
Guitar Center clearly values maximizing their profits over supporting the interests of their musician clientele. Not long ago I had the experience of purchasing a cable at their 14th Street NYC store, and I experienced a practice typical of unscrupulous retailers - the scanner rang up a substantially higher price than the product was tagged with on the shelf. Any similar experiences should be reported on this forum. Bad press can work wonders!
