Members SnowRose
Well, this will possibly be my setup in awhile. ESP LTD EC-50Tech 21 Trademark 60 It's nothing spectacular compared to other users on this forum. I'm looking for good crunch pedal that emulates a nice british-stack crunch. The other pedal I am looking for is a good delay. I used to be really into effects, but after owning a Zoom GFX-1, I figured it just got in the way of my playing and I don't think I will ever use flanger or those robotic techno effects. So yeah, a good delay pedal and a nice british-stack crunch overdrive pedal. I prefer the pedals to be less than $100 each.
Members Woody777
Proco Rat and Boss DD-3 Nice amp by the way... I have one too. I got a great distortion out of the amp by putting a Dano EQ in the loop. Without the EQ, it was pretty useless IMO.

I hope I pick the right amp to go along with the right pedal.

Does it make it even more dirty or does it sound worse and fuzzy?

As for your other question I'd say to run the pedal with your amp clean.
