Do you guys run your fuzzes through clean amps?

I hear people talking about running different fuzzes through twin reverbs and the low inputs of their amps, am I the only one who uses fuzz through an already distorted amp? I have my jcm 800 set to a decent amount of gain then use my big muff or bb-jr on top of that to get a wall of sound.

JK man. Sometimes i'll use an OD pedal on my amps Drive channel. Mixing iin fuzzes/OD's is fine. Just usually doing 2 distortions=bad

My fuzzes (Tweak Fuzz, Fuzz Factory) sound much better through the clean channel of my amp (Road King). The Nu-Wa/Nu-Fuzz can add some over-the-top tones to the distortion channel or other fuzzes but for the most part I find I need the crispness of the clean channel to balance out the fuzz.

i run mine primarily into a marshall JMP 50 watt combo.
preamp on 5 and master on 6, low input so eeh, fairly clean, but shows some hair if you hit the strings fairly hard.

I can see that. I tried running a fuzz through my 5150 for the hell of it and it was terrible sounding. I guess you need a open crunchy kind of distortion if your gunna use overdrive with it.

Mostly clean Fargen, but again, there's some grit there if you bang away on the bridge pup. Guess I'd say it's "on the edge" but definitely not distorted.

I'll run octave fuzzes into saturated preamps, but tend to roll back the gain a bit before kicking in any other type of fuzz.

I like running my fuzzes into my bad monkey.
otherwise I love pumping dist pedals into the fuzzes. This causes dramatic changes in my book cuz of the impedence changes. Like changing guitars if you know what Im saying. Unfortunately this entails you have true bypass boxes or otherwise the fuzzes dynamics can be killed

right now, my chain is guitar-PW tuner-BBjr-OCD-jcm 800. When i have the ocd and bb-jr on at the same time it sounds horrible. Maybe I should try guitar-tuner-ocd-BBjr-amp? I have a bad monkey too. I should try to see if I can get some cool sounds with it and the fuzz.

It depends more on the guitar than the amp with my setup. My little 2-watter stays fairly clean with single coils, but it doesn't take much to distort when you hit it with humbuckers.

Miami Fuzz > Fender Dual Showman Reverb. Great sound. Sometimes I use it with the OCD too. Total meltdown.

Retroman Sybil fuzz into normal channel of a 71 Twin. I use a A/B switch to send the fuzz into the normal channel with the treble adjusted low and the rest of the pedals into the the reverb channel set at a normal clean Fender sound.

I like to run my MJM Foxey Fuzz after a Keeley/Ibanez TS-9 into two Mesa Mark series amps that are either clean or just on the verg of a little break-up.

Fuzz into too clean of an amp sounds a bit harsh for my liking. I prefer it when the amp is working pretty hard and the power tubes are fattening up and starting to compress. But if the amp's too dirty, most fuzzes will be muddy. So, my answer is that nice place between clean and dirty. The taint.

That's how I feel. When I run fuzzes through the low input of my marshall, the fuzz is harsh and overly trebly but the more gain I have from the amp, the heavier the sound is.

Taco +1. I like my amp to be just slightly breaking up with my ICBM. If I set the amp totally clean, the fuzz seems to lose some character and sound a little to harsh/solid state.
